What does this error mean?
The product you are trying to import already exists in our catalog, but it has multiple variants (for example: different colors, sizes, storage capacities, or RAM configurations). The system could not determine which specific variant your offer corresponds to.
Why does this happen?
- Missing variant info: Your product name doesn't include information about the variant. For example, "iPhone 15" without specifying the storage (128GB, 256GB, etc.) or color.
- Ambiguous description: The product name contains variant info but it matches multiple variants or is unclear.
- No variant hints: The imported data doesn't contain columns like color, size, or other attributes that help identify the exact variant.
How to fix it
- Add variant details to the product name: Include the specific variant information directly in the product name. For example, instead of "Samsung Galaxy S24", use "Samsung Galaxy S24 256GB Phantom Black".
- Add extra columns: If your import file supports it, add columns for color, size, storage, RAM, or other variant-specific attributes.
- Create manually: Click "Create manually" next to the error to select the exact variant yourself.
Examples
| Before (error) | After (fixed) |
|---|---|
| iPhone 15 Pro | iPhone 15 Pro 256GB Natural Titanium |
| Nike Air Max 90 | Nike Air Max 90 White Size 42 |
| Samsung Galaxy S24 | Samsung Galaxy S24 8/256GB Phantom Black |
Tip
The more specific your product name is, the better our system can match it to the correct variant. Always include differentiating attributes like color, size, capacity, or model number.
