Copies, replicas and imitations of branded products are not accepted. Neither are products that use another brand's name, logo or design without being made by that brand.
A product may be refused with the reason Suspected counterfeit / non-original product when its title, description, photos or price give reason to believe it is not original.
This applies to every category, and especially to products that are often copied, such as:
- headphones and earbuds
- phone accessories, chargers and cables
- perfumes and cosmetics
- footwear and clothing
- bags, wallets and accessories
- watches and sunglasses
- toys and collectible figures
- car parts and accessories
Listing counterfeit products is prohibited by the IVO Terms and Conditions and by your contract with IVO.
Descriptions such as “replica”, “copy”, “1:1 quality”, “AAA quality” or “same as the original” should not be used.
If a listing describes itself as a copy, the product is not original, and it cannot be sold on IVO.
The brands used in the examples below are fictional.
Example 1: Wireless earbuds described as a copy
Imagine wireless earbuds made by a well-known brand, ZELVIO.
A listing that presents the earbuds as a copy of the ZELVIO product cannot be accepted, however good the copy is.
Not acceptedThe listing itself says the product is a replica of a branded product. | AcceptedThe product is the brand's original, or it is sold under its own name without borrowing another brand's.
ZELVIO Pods Pro Wireless Earbuds – Replica 1:1, AAA Quality![]() | ZELVIO Pods Pro Wireless Earbuds, White![]() | Wireless Bluetooth 5.3 Earbuds with Charging Case, White![]() |
| The customer is told in advance that they are not getting the original, and the brand's name is used to sell a product the brand did not make. | The original product, in its original packaging. | A product without a brand is accepted, as long as it does not use another brand's name, logo or design. |
Example 2: Perfume “inspired by” a known fragrance
Perfumes and cosmetics are often sold as versions of famous products.
Imagine the fragrance Nuit Blanche by Maison Orvelle. A perfume made by another producer must not be sold using that name.
Not acceptedThe listing uses the name of another brand's perfume to sell a different product. | AcceptedThe perfume is the original, or it is sold under its own brand and its own name.
Perfume Inspired by Maison Orvelle Nuit Blanche, 50 ml![]() | Maison Orvelle Nuit Blanche Eau de Parfum, 50 ml![]() | Lunetta Floral Eau de Parfum, 50 ml![]() |
| Words such as “inspired by”, “type” or “dupe” followed by another brand's product name are not accepted. | The original perfume, in the brand's packaging. | A perfume under its own brand is accepted, as long as the title, description and photos do not refer to another brand's perfume. |
Example 3: Perfume sets, small bottles and testers
Perfume is one of the most copied products in Moldova. Copies are often sold as “Lux” or “UAE quality”, in sets of small bottles from several famous brands, as testers, or poured into small bottles.
Whatever its size or format, a perfume listed under a brand must reach the customer in the bottle that brand filled and packed.
Imagine again the fragrance Nuit Blanche by Maison Orvelle.
Not acceptedThe perfume is a copy, or it is not in a bottle the brand filled and packed. | AcceptedThe brand filled and packed the bottle, whatever its size. |
Perfume Gift Set 3 × 30 ml: Maison Orvelle Nuit Blanche, VALCORE Noir, Elyra Rose![]() | Maison Orvelle Nuit Blanche Gift Set: Eau de Parfum 50 ml + Body Lotion 75 ml![]() |
| Perfume brands do not put their perfumes in one box with other brands' perfumes. Sets like this are made by counterfeiters, whatever names are on the bottles. | A set made by the brand, in the brand's box. The brand's own sets of miniatures are accepted too. |
Maison Orvelle Nuit Blanche, 10 ml – Decant from the Original Bottle![]() | Maison Orvelle Nuit Blanche Eau de Parfum, 10 ml Travel Spray![]() |
| Once a perfume is poured into another bottle, nobody can confirm what is inside, even if it came from an original bottle. The same applies to perfume sold by the millilitre. | A small size made by the brand, in the brand's packaging. |
Maison Orvelle Nuit Blanche Eau de Parfum, 100 ml – Lux Quality, UAE![]() | Maison Orvelle Nuit Blanche Eau de Parfum, 100 ml – Tester![]() |
| “Lux”, “Euro” or “UAE quality” next to a brand's name mean a copy of that brand's perfume. Perfumes made in the UAE and sold under their own brand are accepted like any other. | The brand's original tester, with “Tester” in the title, so the customer knows it comes in a plain box and sometimes without a cap. |
In short, for perfume:
- Accepted: the brand's original perfume, the brand's own gift sets, miniatures, travel sizes and testers, and perfumes sold under their own brand.
- Not accepted: “Lux”, “Euro” or “UAE quality” copies, perfumes “inspired by” another perfume, sets mixing several brands, and perfume poured into another bottle or sold by the millilitre.
Example 4: A brand's logo on a product sold as “no brand”
Sometimes the title does not mention any brand, but the photos show a known brand's logo on the product.
In this case, the customer cannot know whether the product is original. And if it is not, it carries a logo it has no right to use.
Not acceptedThe title says the product has no brand, but the photo shows the KAIRUN logo. | AcceptedThe product and its listing say the same thing.
Men's Running Sneakers – No Brand, White![]() | KAIRUN Air Runner Men's Running Sneakers, White![]() | Men's Running Sneakers, White![]() |
| The customer does not know what they are buying: an original product described incorrectly, or a copy. | The brand in the title matches the logo on the product. | A product without a brand, and without any other brand's logo or design. |
Example 5: Compatible products presented as the brand's own
Many products are made to work with another brand's products: chargers, cables, cases, cartridges, spare parts.
These products are welcome on IVO. The brand they work with may be mentioned, but the product must not be presented as if that brand made it.
Not acceptedA charger from another manufacturer is presented with the brand's name and logo, as if ZELVIO made it. | AcceptedThe charger is sold under the name of its real manufacturer, and the compatibility is stated clearly. |
ZELVIO 20W USB-C Fast Charger![]() | AMPERO 20W USB-C Fast Charger, Compatible with ZELVIO Phones![]() |
| The customer believes they are buying a ZELVIO charger. | The customer knows who made the charger and which phones it works with. |
Words that make a product look non-original
Some words tell the customer, and IVO, that a product is not original, even when the rest of the listing looks correct.
Do not use, in the title, the description or the photos:
- replica
- copy, first copy, lux copy, high copy
- 1:1 quality, AAA quality, mirror quality
- “same as the original”, “like the original”, “indistinguishable from the original”
- “inspired by”, “type” or “style” followed by another brand's product
- dupe, fake, or “analogue” of a branded product
- “Lux quality”, “Euro Lux” or “UAE quality” for a branded perfume
If the product is original, these words are not needed. If it is not original, removing them does not make it acceptable.
Photos must show the product being sold
The photos should show the actual product the customer will receive, with its real brand and packaging.
Do not use a brand's official photos for a product that was not made by that brand.
If the product is original, its manufacturer's logos on the product and on the packaging are perfectly normal.
The customer should be able to connect:
Brand in the title → Logo on the product → Packaging → Product received
without any doubt.
When the price raises questions
A price far below what the original product usually costs is one of the most common signs of a counterfeit.
For perfume, it is often the clearest sign: a well-known perfume sold for a small fraction of its usual price is very rarely original.
A low price alone does not mean a product will be refused. But if the price is much lower than usual, make sure the rest of the listing (title, brand, model, photos) leaves no doubt that the product is original.
Products without a brand are welcome
This rule is not about unbranded products.
Products without a brand, or sold under your own brand, can be sold on IVO, as long as:
- the title and description do not use another brand's name to sell them
- the product and its packaging do not carry another brand's logo
- the design does not imitate another brand's recognisable logo, pattern or packaging
Writing “no brand” is not a problem in itself. The problem appears when a product described as unbranded carries the logo or design of a known brand.
What happens if a product does not meet this requirement?
If a listing gives reason to believe the product is not original, the product may be refused during moderation with the reason Suspected counterfeit / non-original product.
The product will be returned to Draft Products.
If the product is original:
- Open Draft Products and find the product.
- Remove from the title and description any words that suggest a copy.
- Make sure the brand and the exact model are stated clearly.
- Use photos of the original product and its original packaging.
- Submit it for approval again.
If the product is not original:
- If it carries another brand's name, logo or design, it cannot be sold on IVO, even with a corrected title.
- If it carries no other brand's marks, you can list it under the name of its real manufacturer, or as an unbranded product, without mentioning the brand it imitates.
If you are sure the product is original and was refused by mistake, contact IVO support from the Help center. Documents showing where the product comes from, such as an invoice from the manufacturer or an authorised distributor, help us review the decision.
Repeatedly listing counterfeit products can lead to the suspension of your account, as set out in your contract with IVO.
A simple rule to follow
Before submitting a branded product, ask:
If the customer took this product to the brand's official store, would it be recognised as original?
If the answer is no, or you are not sure, the product should not be listed under that brand.
IVO customers should always receive the original product they paid for.
