The ASUS ZenDrive U9M is an external slim DVD-RW drive designed to bring optical disc capabilities to modern laptops that lack internal drives. It connects via USB 2.0 and includes both Type-C and Type-A cables, ensuring you can plug it into almost any PC or Mac running Windows 8 or newer, or Mac OS X 10.6 and above. This drive handles a wide range of media, including CD-R, CD-RW, and various DVD formats, with read speeds reaching up to 24X for CDs and 8X for DVDs. It also supports M-DISC DVD+R SL for more durable long-term data archiving. The device is housed in a silver plastic and metal chassis featuring a concentric circle hairline finish, keeping it lightweight at 235g and very thin at just 13.9 mm, which makes it easy to slide into a laptop bag for travel. To help with data management, the drive comes with software for Windows users, including Nero BackItUp and CyberLink Power2Go 8. An LED indicator lets you know the drive's status at a glance, while the USB-powered design simplifies your setup by removing the need for a separate power brick.
